Website
I created a film website to act as a hub for our trailer. A film website is often useful as it gives information about the film such as background and context. Convergent links can be used to guide viewers to different parts of the website such as the about section and the online store. The home page of the website needs to be appealing and can act as a marketing tool for attracting audiences to watch the film. The film trailer will start playing when the website opens to highlight it being the main feature and divert audiences towards it. The website also consists of an online store where viewers can purchase merchandise, further creating awareness of our film.

Sorry We Missed You
Sorry We Missed You's film website acts as a hub of information for the film. One of the main features of
the website is the ability to search for screenings of the film that are happening near your current location. This makes the process of purchasing tickets a lot easier as audiences don't have to search for screenings. The home page also consists of the film poster and the film trailer. The poster states that the film was directed by Ken Loach and brings attention to his previous award winning work - 'I. Daniel Blake'.

A number of convergent links run across the top of the website which allows viewers too indulge more within the film and find out more information about the films background and different movements the film supports. One such movement is the support of the gig economy. One of the convergent links says 'JOIN THE IMPACT CAMPAIGN' which encourages viewers to join the gig economy and support workers within the gig economy.
Finally, there is a convergent link that takes viewers to the films social media pages. This is to further connect audiences with the film by using the #SorryWeMissedYou hashtag.
The Lego Movie 2
The Lego Movie 2's film website consists of information about the film in a short, but confined manner. The top of the website shows the film trailer which automatically starts playing when the website is opened. This is in order to get the audiences attention and appeal to its target audience of children. When you scroll down, the website shows a list of different platforms where the film can be watched; for example, Virgin Media, Sky Movies and Prime Video. This informs the viewer where they can find the movie in a convenient manner.
There is also a section where viewers can learn about the film and the origins of lego and the credits for the film, including the mention of famous actors Chris Pratt and Elizabeth Banks. These names are pretty big so it is likely viewers will be attracted to the film so they can watch a film with their favourite actors in.
Finally, there are convergent links leading to the film's social media platforms on a wide variety of platforms appealing to all ages.
Dune
The first thing that appears when you enter the Dune film website is a pop-up of the film trailer which entices viewers to watch it and then become indulged in watching the actual film. Once you click off the trailer a picture of the film credits appears on the bottom of the screen and as you scroll down you see the main cast with pictures of each actor in the film playing his character. This gives the website a professional look as well as introducing viewers to the actors in the film.
The website also has convergent links to the films social media on instagram, Facebook and twitter. There is also a menu you can open which gives you the option to browse a gallery of pictures and view the soundtrack of the film.
Excellent work: you have thoroughly investigated all relevant aspects of social media marketing as background research for your own film. Detailed analysis of how the film Tenet using social media is well illustrated; website research has made you aware of how the film website acts as a convergent hub and you have even had the initiative to explore the design for your own website (beyond the required minor task brief).
ReplyDeleteYour account of how your own Minor Task - making an Instagram feed - shows confident understanding of how to engage your target audience using appropriate media language, based on your research. You offer a variety of engaging posts ranging from out takes from the filming to merchandise like T shirts, behind-the-scenes shots and the film posters, all of which contributes to brand cohesion.
